SERVING SPEECH AND HEARING NEEDS IN THE DURHAM COMMUNITY
The Triangle Sertoma Club, a unit in good standing of Sertoma Incorporated, was chartered by the Bull City Sertoma Club on June 16, 1978. We are a Durham, North Carolina civic service organization comprised of business and professional people who volunteer their time in fellowship throughout the year to help provide financial support to unfunded speech and hearing needs of young people in our community. We are a 501 (c) (3) organization.
Our clubhouse, a place to gather in fellowship, is a result of the vision and guidance of Billy Beam, a charter member who passed away August 7, 2004. We purchased our building along with nine acres of land on May 15, 1998. After approximately three years, countless hours of sweat equity, donations of materials and services, extensive renovation work, spearheaded by club member Glenn Parker, a local builder, the clubhouse was ready for occupancy. Literally thousands of barbeque dinners, sold by the club over a several year period, provided the seed money for the purchase and renovation.
Our clubhouse was also built to serve the community as a place for inexpensive banquet hall rentals and party venues
